The ultimate way to learn the craft
The International Motorsport Federation (FIA) established the Formula 4 class as the ideal national entry-level category for young drivers looking to transition from karting to circuit racing.
This approach has proven successful, and with championships in over 20 countries, including Denmark, there are plenty of opportunities to launch a career here.
In 2025, STEP Motorsport will compete with four drivers in the Danish championship, Nordic 4. Racing against other young talents in identical equipment provides the optimal foundation for driver development – and that’s exactly what we’re here for.
In addition to competing in Nordic 4, our drivers are also part of STEP Academy, where we focus on essential areas like media training, career planning, and sponsor acquisition.
From karting to cars
The transition from karting to circuit racing requires more than just driving adjustments. For a career with international potential, learning the craft from the ground up is essential. The Formula 4 car offers an ideal platform, where drivers gain experience working with both mechanical grip and the aerodynamic grip provided by the wings.
Driving technique and mechanical understanding are crucial skills when moving up to international teams. Additionally, drivers must be proficient in analyzing data from the car. However, STEP Motorsport goes beyond just racing skills on the track.
Our drivers are trained in sponsor relations and media handling. For a racing driver, sponsor acquisition and PR are key aspects of daily life, and the better one is at these, the easier it becomes to secure exciting opportunities and sponsorships.

LINEUP 2024

The Championship
Nordic 4 is a natural evolution of previous junior classes like Formula Ford and Formula Opel/Lotus, but with significantly higher safety standards and a tighter technical framework. These improvements make Nordic 4 a safer and more affordable class for young drivers.
Nordic 4 is based on the Formula 4 concept developed by the FIA, specifically designed for the crucial transition from karting to car racing and as a stepping stone toward Formula 3, Formula 2, and ultimately Formula 1.
The primary goal of the class is to support the next generation of Danish talent in advancing their racing careers.
