The North Zealand karting driver will make the leap to formula cars in 2025, joining the talent program at STEP Motorsport.

After seven seasons in karting, including participation in the Swedish and Italian championships, 14-year-old Viktor Poulsen is ready to take the next step in his motorsport career. This spring, the teenager from Holte will swap his kart for a Formula 4 racer to compete in the Danish Nordic 4 Championship.

STEP Motorsport, which recently claimed the driver, team, and rookie championships in Nordic 4, offers Viktor Poulsen a solid and experienced foundation for his debut season:

“I’m really excited to join STEP Motorsport and Nordic 4 next year. It’s clear that the team has a great handle on both the technical side and driver development, so I’ll work hard to adapt from karting to race cars. It’s going to be an amazing experience,” says Viktor Poulsen.

Team principal at STEP Motorsport, Morten Dons, is eager to help develop another young motorsport talent and guide them toward the international stage, as the team successfully did with Mathias Bjerre Jakobsen last season and other drivers before him:

“Our team exists to help young drivers with ambition, determination, and talent reach a level where they can compete on international circuits. Viktor meets all our expectations for a young karting driver, and I’m confident we’ll have an exciting, rewarding, and fun season together on Danish and Swedish tracks,” he says.
The Nordic 4 Championship features eight rounds in Denmark and Sweden, with Formula 4 cars boasting 160 horsepower. Previous Danish champions include Conrad Laursen (European Le Mans Series), and Malthe Jakobsen (factory driver for Team Peugeot TotalEnergies, FIA World Endurance Championship).
