Erik Poulsen drives F4 CEZ with STEP Motorsport

3. October 2025

The Swedish national team driver will make the jump to single-seater racing in 2026 in the Formula 4 Central European Zone.

Erik Poulsen is the first confirmed driver at STEP Motorsport for the upcoming season, where the professional team from West Jutland is aiming high and taking on bigger teams in the Central European Championship.

The 14-year-old Danish-Swedish karting driver comes from a family passionate about motorsport, with his father, uncle and grandfather all having a long history in the sport. Despite his young age, Erik himself has already achieved promising results and represents his Swedish homeland in the FIA Karting Academy and has been selected for the Swedish national team.

He is looking forward to his debut in formula racing and the many new challenges:

“All karting drivers dream of getting the chance to make the jump to single-seater racing. The fact that it’s already happening in 2026 – and with STEP Motorsport, which is one of Scandinavia’s leading teams – feels fantastic. The first year being international is a big challenge, but the plan is to see it as an important learning year. I’m super motivated and can’t wait to get started!”, says Erik Poulsen.

Team Manager at STEP Motorsport, Morten Dons, is looking forward to having another young talent join the team and start working with him:

“I’m delighted that Erik and his family have chosen STEP Motorsport as the best place to take the next step in Erik’s development as a racing driver. He has already shown very positive things in karting and I am convinced that we will get a super competent formula driver out of him”, says Morten Dons.

The Formula 4 Central European Zone season will be held at tracks in Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia and is an official, FIA-sanctioned championship with the participation of several of Europe’s top teams in formula racing.
